Update: Police interview suspect in connection to stabbing in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police are investigating a stabbing that happened in east Greensboro Tuesday morning.

Police responded to 1212 Ivy Heights around 8:07 a.m. after a witness called 911 to report the stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers found Jonathan Robert Edward Pierce, 33, with a wound to his chest.

Pierce was alert when he was transported to the hospital.

His wounds were described as life-threatening.

Officers are interviewing a suspect in connection to the incident. Police said there is no reason to believe another person was involved.

The motive for the assault is still unclear.
