Police: Girlfriend believed to be responsible in Greensboro stabbing

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police have identified the suspect believed to be responsible for stabbing a man on Tuesday morning in east Greensboro.

Deaundra Nitika Glover, 32, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Police responded to 1212 Ivy Heights around 8:07 a.m. after a witness called 911 to report the stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers found Jonathan Robert Edward Pierce, 33, with a wound to his chest.

Police say Glover is the girlfriend of Pierce and are classifying the incident as an act of domestic violence.

Glover is currently confined in the Greensboro Jail Central on a domestic hold with no bond.

The motive for the assault is unclear at this time.
