Man on most wanted list for 8 years in Rowan County arrested in Louisiana

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man who has been on their most wanted list since 2007.

Maurice Boyd Woodward, 52, was arrested in Louisiana on Saturday.

Sgt. Carl Dangerfield was researching the Rowan County most wanted list and noticed Woodward had an alternate address on Old Genessee  Road in Trickfaw, La.

Sgt. Dangerfield called local law enforcement in that jurisdiction and they arrested Woodward.

The Rowan County District Attorney’s Office is coordinating Woodward’s extradition so he can be tried in Rowan County.

Woodward was wanted on multiple felony counts of possession with the intent to sell LSD and cocaine.
