HIGH POINT, N.C. -- The personal information of more than half a million Anthem customers in North Carolina was compromised in a cyberattack.
Attorney General Roy Cooper said 775,000 people statewide were victims of the attack.
Anthem customers are urged to take time to protect themselves and learn as much as they can about what to do if they are the victim of a security breach.
One way for customers to protect themselves is to keep track of their credit report.
The cyberattack on Athem last month put customer information such as names, addresses, social security numbers and ID numbers at risk.
