GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police are investigating a hit-and-run wreck that knocked out power to traffic lights in the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Alamance Church Road.

Just before 5:30 p.m., an unidentified vehicle struck a utility pole on Rotherwood Road between Bristol Road and Alamance Church Road, police said. That stretch of Rotherwood Road was closed while police investigated the wreck. The road has since reopened.

The car fled the scene, police said.
