GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man tried robbing a Greensboro hotel but left empty-handed after the clerk refused to give him any money, according to police.

The Greensboro News & Record reported that it happened at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hampton Inn at 3033 High Point Road.

The man entered the hotel with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk, according to police. But the clerk refused and the suspect reportedly left without any money.

The investigation is ongoing and police are still looking for the suspect. Anyone with any information can call police at (336) 373-1000.
