Customer accused of shooting NC auto shop owner after argument over car

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Authorities have arrested a man accused of shooting a North Carolina auto shop owner after the two were arguing over a car.

WNCN reported that 28-year-old Elbert Terrell is accused of shooting and injuring the owner of Lucky’s Automotive in Fayetteville on Saturday morning.

Deputies said the suspect and the victim were arguing about a car at the business when the suspect went to his car and got a handgun. He allegedly shot the victim in the stomach.

The victim was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury. The suspect has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Terrell was jailed in Cumberland County without bond. He has court planned for later this month.
