NC man, 73, charged with 42 counts of indecent liberties

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — A North Carolina man is facing more than 40 indecent liberties charges.

According to WCNC, while conducting their investigation into allegations of sexual assault, another victim came forward prompting the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office to file an additional 42 counts of indecent liberties against a 73-year-old man.

Grady Samuel Hicks, 73, came under investigation after the father of a male victim said Hicks performed sexual acts on his son over several years. Hicks is charged with more than a dozen sex offense against a child charges in connection with that case.

A new victim says they were victimized by Hicks between the ages of 12 and 15. The victim reported the incidents occurred while going to and from church and while on hunting and fishing trips.

Hicks was charged with 42 counts of indecent liberties on top of 18 counts of sex offenses he faced from the initial investigation.
