FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. -- The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is warning people about a jury duty summons scam.

Authorities said the scammers are calling people and telling them they're in trouble because they've missed jury duty.

The scammer is telling people that in order to avoid a warrant for their arrest and jail time, they must send money.

When it comes to jury summons the  Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said it doesn't work that way.

Anyone who receives a call like this is asked to get as much information as possible for the police, such as the name, phone number, and address of the caller.
