SEATTLE -- A mom in Washington decided to start a scout troop for kids with autism.

Deanna Pearson said her son Preston wanted to be a scout for a long time but there weren't any packs that could handle his special needs.

So she started a pack so that children with autism have a chance to be just like other kids their age.

Pearson said it's great for parents too because they don't have to worry about explaining or apologizing for their kids.

The scout leader said the pack has been perfect for his son.
