Guilford animal shelter to house dogs during winter storm

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Guilford County Animal Shelter is opening a temporary shelter for dogs from Wednesday to Friday.

The temporary shelter, at 4525 W. Wendover Ave. in Greensboro, is free to any resident of Guilford County who cannot provide adequate shelter for their dogs during the upcoming frigid temperatures.

All dogs must be up to date on their rabies vaccine, get along with other dogs and not show aggression toward people. Rabies vaccines will be provided for $5 if the dog’s vaccine isn’t current.

All dogs must be picked up by 6 p.m. Friday.
