CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A North Carolina man has delivered his first child in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant.

WSOC reported that Waylon Long recently delivered Lilyanne Grace from her mother Sommer Bradshaw at a Jack in the Box parking lot in Charlotte.

The parents were on their way back to the hospital, after being told by doctors earlier that day that their baby wasn’t ready to be born.

The mother said her water broke as they were driving and they pulled over in the fast food parking lot. The father said he called 911 and got ready to help deliver his daughter.

Medical workers eventually arrived and took care of the parents and their baby, who was named after her great-grandmother. The baby is said to be doing well.

“Having her be so healthy and perfect and beautiful in every way; that’s just all you can ask for,” Bradshaw said.
