Police solve 15-year-old Charlotte cold case murder

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte woman has closure 15 years after police said her mother was murdered.

Police said Lottie Mae Web was stabbed to death in her west Charlotte home in 2000. Detectives exclusively told Channel 9 that DNA has helped them solve that case.

Officers said DNA taken from the crime scene helped lead them to the suspect in the case and family members are relieved.

Lena Moore told Channel 9 reporter Tina Terry her mother was a loving and caring woman.
