Update: Ramp to I-85 Business now open after tractor-trailer crash in Greensboro

UPDATE 5:33 p.m. — The ramp is now open.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Exit 79B ramp heading onto Interstate 85 Business southbound is closed after a tractor-trailer carrying 41,000 pounds of paper overturned on a ramp.

A detour is leading drivers north to Creek Ridge Road to loop around.

Officials said the ramp could be closed until noon.

“The exit ramp will be closed for several hours while approximately 42,000 pounds of paper is off-loaded from the trailer and transferred to another truck,” according to a news release.

No injuries have been reported in the accident, which happened about 8:45 a.m.

The Highway Patrol is investigating.
