PENDLETON, S.C. — Authorities are investigating whether a man wanted in an armed robbery at a gas station is the same man wanted in connection with a murder and armed robberies in three other states.

Deputies told WHNS two armed men walked into the 7-Eleven on Highway 187 at about 2:20 a.m. Sunday and demanded money before escaping in a dark-colored minivan.

Deputies want to know if one of the men is 28-year-old Robert Clark, of Dennison, Ohio.

Investigators in Ohio are searching for Clark in connection with the murders of Doyle and Lillian Chumney, according to WOIO. The Chumneys were reported missing from their home on Jan. 21. Their bodies were later discovered in a burned car that was found on an abandoned road the following day.

Investigators believe Clark and another man were behind the murders. The other man was arrested and charged in the deaths.

Deputies in West Virginia believe Clark also robbed a gas station there Saturday night. Clark also is considered a suspect in a recent armed robbery in Georgia and another in South Carolina.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
