Police charge man with domestic assault, interfering with 911 call

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Police arrested a man in Davidson County in connection to a domestic assault.

When police arrived at the scene on the 200 block of John Sinder Road, the victim told police she was assaulted by her boyfriend, Charles Franklin Leonard, 29.

The victim had a busted lip and red marks across the right side of her face.

She told police Leonard punched her in the mouth and slapped her across the face. The victim told police Leonard took her phone and removed the batteries so she couldn’t call 911.

During the investigation, police were told that Leonard was a convicted felon and kept a shotgun under his bed.

Police seized three guns from the home.

Leonard was placed under arrest and charged with domestic assault on a female and interfering with 911 communications.

He was placed in the Davidson County Jail without bond. Leonard’s court date is set for March 10.
