Scotty McCreery covers a classic country song at Grand Ole Opry

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Scotty McCreery played at the Grand Ole Opry on Friday night and closed his performance with a country classic.

Country Music Nation reported that the North Carolina native played Conway Twitty’s popular hit, “Hello Darlin’.”

The Grand Ole Opry tweeted a photo of McCreery performing the song, “channeling his inner Conway Twitty.”

McCreery is from Garner and won the 10th season of Fox’s “American Idol.” The Grand Ole Opry is a weekly country music stage concert in Nashville that has presented the genre’s biggest stars.
