66-year-old NC man gets $1 million bond on drug charges

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A 66-year-old Charlotte man is being held in the Guilford County Jail under a $1 million secured bond on charges involving cocaine and marijuana.

The Greensboro News & Record reported that Charlie Thompson was charged with two counts of felony trafficking cocaine, two counts of felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling place for controlled substances and possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana.

Police believe he sold marijuana out of his gold 1998 Honda Accord, according to Thompson’s warrant. Police said in the warrant that Thompson sold between 200 and 400 grams of cocaine and 118 grams of marijuana.

The suspect has a court date scheduled for 8:30 a.m. March 17.
