GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- A couple in Michigan is battling cancer simultaneously while trying to raise their two young girls.

Shelby Offrink was diagnosed with grade IV glioblastoma of the spine, one of the rarest forms of cancer, in February of 2014. Her husband, Ben Offrink, learned his Hodgkin’s lymphoma had relapsed just months after his wife's diagnosis.

Now the couple is going through chemotherapy and radiation treatments together.

Throughout the past year, friends and family have organized several fundraisers to help the family pay for medical expenses and to cover the cost of daycare for their two girls.

A account has been set up in the family’s name.
