HIGH POINT, N.C. -- A Browns Summit man died in a traffic crash in High Point late Thursday evening.

James Alvin Hargrove, 46, was ejected from his Mercury Mountaineer at about 9:40 p.m., when he crashed at 101 Gordon St.

The vehicle went off the road, hit a culvert and rolled over several times, police said. An ambulance took Hargrove to High Point Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Hargrove was not wearing a seatbelt, according to a release. Excessive speed was a factor in the crash, investigators said.
