NC teacher accused of performing sex acts on teenage boy

TROUTMAN, N.C. — A North Carolina teacher is accused of performing sex acts on a teenage boy, according to WJZY.

Julianna Ortiz Mills, 37, of Mooresville, has been charged with sexual activity with a student by a teacher and felony taking indecent liberties with a student by a teacher.

Mills is an English teacher at South Iredell High School in Statesville. Authorities said the victim is not one of her students and the alleged crimes did not happen on school grounds.

A deputy patrolling a residential neighborhood reportedly saw the suspect standing next to a vehicle with the victim inside.

The suspect was charged after being questioned. She was jailed under a $10,000 secured bond.

North Carolina law makes it a felony for teachers to have a sexual relationship with a student at the same school.
