Mount Airy mother, boyfriend arrested after toddler found beaten, badly bruised
SURRY COUNTY, N.C. — A mother and her boyfriend in Mount Airy have been arrested after deputies said the boyfriend beat the mother’s 4-year-old child.
Joshua Phillip Lewis, 28, and Megan Renee Cain, 22, both of Mount Airy, face charges after deputies said a boy was beaten and badly bruised.
The Surry County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to a Mount Airy home on Lynn Road on Jan. 11 in response to a child abuse incident.
Deputies said they found a 4-year-old boy who was beaten and badly bruised. The abuse allegedly happened Jan. 9 at the boyfriend’s home on Rocky Lane.
Lewis faces charges of felony child abuse causing serious physical injury and domestic assault on a female. He was arrested Thursday and jailed under a $75,000 secured bond. He has court planned for Feb. 10.
Cain faces charges of felony neglect child abuse causing serious physical injury. She was arrested Jan. 12 and jailed under a $1,000 secured bond. She has court Feb. 10.
