Former NC pastor charged with sexually assaulting a child

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A man who served as a pastor at churches in North Carolina for 15 years has been charges with sexually assaulting a child.

The Gaston Gazette reported that 52-year-old Michael Wayne Hill has been charged with sexual battery of a person younger than 12 years old.

The suspect is a former Seventh-day Adventist pastor and once worked in Lincolnton and Shelby. He left his recent position in Shelby last year.

The sex offenses allegedly happened 20 years ago in Jacksonville, Fla. There is no statute of limitations for child sex crimes.
