Attorney: Man did not intentionally kill estranged wife’s boyfriend

TROUTMAN, N.C. — The attorney for the man accused of shooting and killing his estranged wife’s long-term boyfriend said he did not mean to do it.

Court documents reveal new details to what happened the night of the murder.

Jeffrey Gillespie was led into court Thursday morning with his hands and feet in shackles.

Next to him was his attorney from Charlotte, who said he did not intentionally kill Bobby Swedlund, 25.
