SCHILLER PARK, Ill. --A mother in Illinois is facing charges of attempted murder after she was accused of trying to poison her children with apple juice because she was mad at their father.

Police said Krystle El Khatib, 29, mixed an anti-anxiety pill into apple juice before giving it to her two children and telling them to drink two glasses of the mixture. El Khatib also drank something mixed with the drug.

Her two children were taken to the hospital and treated for poisoning the following morning because her son was vomiting.

El Khatib was charged after telling a social worker that she brought her kids into the world and can take them out, according to WGN.
