SC woman gets jail for walking around topless

YORK COUNTY, S.C. —  A York County woman was sentenced to 90 days in jail after she was arrested a second time for walking topless outside her home.

Jeannie Jonas, 55, pleaded guilty to indecent exposure Thursday.

She considered challenging the state law on the basis of gender bias, because according to her lawyer, she wouldn’t have been arrested if she had been a man.

Jonas was on already on probation for an earlier guilty plea to the same charge.

Last year she told police she wanted to join a nudist colony.
