The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of the FOX8 viewing area from Tuesday evening until noon on Wednesday.

The advisory covers all counties east of the Blue Ridge.

All those east of the Blue Ridge can expect freezing drizzle and freezing rain, possibly mixed with sleet at times overnight.

A glaze to one-tenth of an inch of ice accrual is expected, with the highest amounts on the eastern fringe of the FOX8 viewing area.

Most of the ice build-up will be on elevated surfaces, making the morning commute Wednesday a little slippery. The Winter Weather Advisory expires at noon on Wednesday.
