HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Police are searching for a suspect in connection with a string of convenience store robberies in High Point and Thomasville.

There have been four armed robberies in High Point and one attempted robbery in Thomasville believed to be committed by the same suspect between Dec. 12, 2014, and Jan. 7.

In each incident, the suspect enters a local convenience store wearing gloves and a mask, brandishes a firearm and demands money.

According to police, the suspect carries a "stick" into the store in order to prop the door open for his escape.

Investigators from both High Point and Thomasville police are working together to capture the suspect.

Video surveillance captured in Thomasville during the attempted robbery of the Liberty Food Mart has revealed the suspect's face. In the video he is seen assaulting the store clerk.

"He seems to be left handed in the way he comes in with the firearms," said Lt. Kevin Ray, of the High Point Police Department. High Point police are warning store clerks and customers to be on the lookout.

"Call in anything that is suspicious, someone sitting and watching a store," Ray said.

Anyone with information is asked to call High Point Crimestoppers at 336-889-4000 or Thomasville Crimestoppers at 336-476-8477.
