Police charge 2 in Rowan County with multiple counts of trafficking opium, heroin

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — Police arrested two people in Rowan County after undercover officers purchased narcotics from them.

Ryan Everhart, 28, and Leslie Helms, 25, of 115 Rock Olive Drive, were arrested and charged with multiple counts of trafficking opium and heroin.

Undercover officers purchased narcotics from them on two different occasions.

On Aug. 23, 2014, an undercover agent purchased five Oxymorphone tablets from Everhart at  404 W. Main St.

Then, on Sept. 12, 2014, an agent purchased 15 Oxycodone tablets from Ryan Everhart and Leslie Helms at the same location.

Bond is set at $100,000 for Everhart and $20,000 for Helms.
