Firefighters, new Marine help couple in SC crash

BEAUFORT, S.C. —A new Marine and a group of off-duty firefighters from Gaston County rushed to action after coming across a major crash in a different state, and found two people in desperate need of help.

“My adrenaline was pumping,” said 19-year-old Jonathan Pearson.

Just hours after officially becoming a Marine, the volunteer firefighter from Gastonia came across a 2-car crash involving a fellow Marine and his wife.

He immediately jumped into action.
