2 transported to the hospital, 1 in jail after shooting

EDEN, N.C. — Two people are in the hospital and one is in jail after a shooting Sunday morning.

Police arrived at the scene on Dameron Street just before 6 a.m. and found Wayne Johnson Jr., 26, with a gunshot wound.

Johnson told officers that the shooting happened at 101 N. Primitive St. When officers went to that address they found another vicitim, Sheriel Broadnax, 24, inside a vehicle in the driveway with a gunshot wound.

Both victims were taken to an area hospital.

Police arrested and charged Shaquan Lowe, 17, of Eden, with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon in connection to the shooting.

Lowe is being held in the Rockingham County Jail without bond. His court date is set for Feb. 2, 2015.
