Body of man found inside High Point home; bomb squad called to scene

HIGH POINT, N.C. — The body of a man was found inside a home in the 600 block of Westchester Drive in High Point on Sunday morning, according to authorities.

Officials said explosives were found inside the home and the Greensboro bomb squad was called as a precautionary measure.

The identity of the man has not been released. The cause of death appears to be natural causes. Authorities said there is no danger to the public.

Items found inside the home include five grenades, two rockets, a ground burst simulator and a mortar ball.

Traffic in the area was said to have been blocked off by the early afternoon.
