A woman was killed after a crash in Thomasville.

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — A 76-year-old woman died after a crash Friday afternoon in Thomasville, according to police.

Betty Shackelford died of her injuries after being taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, according to Thomasville police.

The crash happened shortly after noon on Friday at the intersection of Fisher Ferry and Fairgrove roads.

Police said the victim was driving a 2013 Volkswagen and made a left turn onto Fisher Ferry Road when she crashed into a 2004 Ford Pickup truck.

The 24-year-old man driving the truck was treated and released from the scene, according to police.

The crash remains under investigation. Other details have not been released.
