Third man arrested in connection to state car vandalism, gas card theft

RALEIGH, N.C. — State Capitol Police arrested a man in connection to the vandalism of state-owned vehicles and the theft of gas cards.

Rodney Wilson Sr., 36, of Knightdale, turned himself into police at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Wilson and his two sons, who were already arrested, were charged in connection to the vandalism of 65 state-owned vehicles and the theft of 23 gas fleet credit cards between September and October of 2014.

The total loss from damaged state cars was close to $20,000 and the illegal use of the gas credit cards was almost $16,000.

Rodney Wilson Sr. is in the Wake County Detention Center under a $551,000 secured bond.
