WAKE FOREST, N.C. – Dozens of people showed their support for the hardworking members of North Carolina law enforcement on Saturday.

WTVD reported that an event at the Wake Forest Town Hall was a chance for residents to thank members of the Wake Forest Police Department.

A group of supporters gathered outside police headquarters in Durham for the same reason.

More than a hundred of them, including many family members of Durham police officers, showed up with signs thanking the department for their service.

“When someone gets sick or hurt, these are the men and women who help them…support our local officers,” Angela Wiggins, the wife of an officer, told WTVD.
