Update: Lane reopens on Highway 29 after large pot hole shut it down

Update 4:15 p.m. — All lanes are now open.

Update 1:26 p.m. — The right lane of Highway 29 remains closed between Summit Avenue and 16th Street while NCDOT repairs a portion of the road Wednesday afternoon.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A large pothole in a northbound lane of Highway 29 shut down the lane located just before Phillips Avenue.

The Greensboro Police Department is working to direct traffic away from the area.

The lane will remain closed until repairs are made by the state Department of Transportation.

Motorists are advised to use an alternative route if possible.
