Teen charged with shooting toddler on Christmas Eve in NC

DUPLIN COUNTY, N.C. — A 2-year-old boy was shot on Christmas Eve and is in critical condition.

Tyler Sanderson, 16, is chared with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and one count of shooting into occupied vehicle.

According to WCTI, the child and his parents were visiting a home in Albertson when the parents got into an argument with Sanderson.

As the parents and child were leaving, Sanderson allegedly shot into the car and the child was struck by a bullet.

Sanderson is being held under a $175,000 bond.
