GREENSBORO, N.C. — About 1,400 gallons of untreated wastewater leaked into Beaver Creek in Greensboro on Saturday, according to city officials.

City officials said the discharge of raw sewage happened when a pump failed at 3652 S.E. School Road and lasted for about an hour.

The untreated wastewater entered Beaver Creek, tributary of the Cape Fear River basin. Crews installed a portable pump to prevent further discharge, according to the city.
