CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man accused of killing his mother in a Charlotte home is expected to appear before a judge Friday.

William Yongue, 56, is accused of killing his 88-year-old mother Imogene “Jean” Yongue.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police discovered the crime while responding to a welfare check at the home Monday.  A few hours later William was arrested.

Eyewitness News uncovered Jean was recently a victim of another crime. According to a police report, Jean told police her credit card had been stolen in February, and someone charged hundreds of dollars in purchases.
