HIGH POINT, N.C. — Two Triad hospitals are restricting visitors because of the possibility of the flu spreading.

High Point Regional announced effective today no visitors under the age of 18 will be allowed in the hospital.

“This decision is based on recommendations from the hospital’s infection control committee to combat the spread of influenza among patients,” said Dale Williams, the hospital’s chief medical officer, in a news release.

Randolph Hospital is also restricting visitors. According to its website, children under 12 are not allowed to come to the hospital unless they are being admitted for treatment.
