‘Hands Up’ protest could congest traffic in Winston-Salem

BLMProtestHanesMallStratford1214 (1)WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Winston-Salem Police Department has become aware of a planned “Hands Up” protest Sunday at 2 p.m. at the intersection of Hanes Mall Bouleveard and Stratford Road that may result in extreme traffic congestion in the area for an undetermined amount of time.

Officials ask drivers to use caution in the area based on an unknown amount of pedestrians near the intersection roadway.

Police personnel will be monitoring the conditions in an effort to avoid pedestrians being struck by vehicles traveling in the roadway area.
