Duplex fire injures man in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. – Authorities said that a duplex fire in Burlington sent one man to the hospital Saturday night.

The Burlington Fire Department and other agencies responded to a fire in progress at 820 Delaware Ave. around 9:00 Saturday night, according to Bat. Chief Nim Harris.

Chief Harris said that once there firefighters entered the home and rescued the occupant who had some physical limitations.

The occupant was evaluated and transported to Alamance Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries, said Harris.

The extent of the injuries is unknown at this time.

Chief Harris estimated the total damage to the duplex to be $45,000.

The investigation is on-going.
