GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Four people face charges following a fight outside a Gastonia mall while waiting for a chance to buy the newest Air Jordan sneakers.

Tressa Smith, 19, of Huntersville, Myles Trevont Coleman, 20, of Charlotte, Dominique Montez McIlwain, 21, of Charlotte, and Jesus Sierra Sanchez, 21, of Lincolnton, all face charges in connection with the fight.

By 7 a.m. Sunday, roughly 200 patrons had lined up outside Eastridge Mall for a chance at a “guaranteed ticket” to purchase Nike’s new Air Jordan 11 Retro “Legend Blue” shoes when they debut Saturday.

When stores ran out of tickets due to crowd size, some of the patrons grew restless.

Most of the crowd dispersed quickly, but a few patrons did not.
