Two NC men arrested following Stoneville armed robbery and shooting

STONEVILLE, N.C. — The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men following a reported armed robbery and shooting that occurred on Nov. 28.

Police arrested Cordaze Lamar Hairston, 18, of 305 Short Ave., Eden, N.C. and Aquarius Phadyal Johnson, 20, of 100 E. Jefferson St., Apt. B2, Mayodan, N.C.

The armed robbery occurred at 110 Misty Ct. in Stoneville at about 11 p.m.

Two masked individuals entered the Misty Court residence and shot Kareem Rashad Matthews, Sr., 29, of 113 S. Hundley Dr. Eden, N.C. in the right side of his body, then robbed him and fled.

Matthews was treated and released for the gunshot wound at a local area hospital.

Both Hairston and Johnson were charged with felonious robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and were placed in the Rockingham County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond. Both are schedule to appear in court Dec. 12.
