Teenager accused of shooting, killing another teen in Rockingham Co.

EDEN, N.C. — A 16-year-old in Rockingham County is accused of shooting and killing an 18-year-old at a Dollar General parking lot in Eden.

Luke Landon Buskirk, 16, of Madison, faces a charge of first degree murder in connection to the death of Darius Tyrone Malloy, according to Eden police.

Authorities said that Buskirk met Malloy in the parking lot of Dollar General on Hwy 770 in Eden on Saturday. During the encounter, Buskirk shot Malloy multiple times, police said.

Eden police said Buskirk was taken into custody without incident around 6 a.m. Sunday. He was placed in the Rockingham County jail without bond and has court planned for Dec. 11.

Authorities have not released a motive in the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
