A storm bringing wet, cold conditions will affect all travel today until the early afternoon– the busiest Thanksgiving travel day.

A coastal low is going to churn up the Eastern Seaboard today, producing wet and wintry weather from Georgia to Maine.

In the Piedmont, this is going to be a rain event with 3/4 inch to 1 inch in the rain gauge by tomorrow morning. Highs today will be in the mid-40s.

Tonight, lows settle to the mid-30’s with persistent clouds in our skies. A fast-moving clipper will sweep across the Mid-Atlantic, producing a quick burst of light rain or flurries around daybreak.

By lunchtime on Thanksgiving Day, we’ll have some sunshine to enjoy (perfect for that post-meal walk around the block) and highs are going to be near 50°.
