NC child dies after falling into bathtub, mother charged

GASTONIA, N.C.– A Gastonia woman was arrested in connection with her daughter’s death, according to WSOC.

Phoebe Alanna Pieper, 25, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Police were called to her home on Friday.

They said her child was found unresponsive and not breathing after falling into a bathtub filled with water.

Emergency workers performed CPR on the child. She was taken to Levine Children’s Hospital, where she died the next day.

The case is still under investigation.
