GREENSBORO, N.C. -- While a number of flights out of PTI have been cancelled Wednesday due to the weather many Thanksgiving travelers moved their flights up a day early to beat the storm.

"I just didn't want to get stuck there for the holidays," said Dawn Jones, one of many travelers who reschedule her flight home from New York. "I saw the forecast over the weekend and decided I need to be on the safe side."

Many travelers were seen Tuesday ahead of Wednesday's weather and travel rush, traditionally one of the busiest travel days of the year.

"I was supposed to fly tomorrow in the afternoon at 3:00, but I looked at the weather forecast of the storm," said Stephanie Von Isenburg, who flew home to Winston-Salem from New York a day early. "Luckily they switched me for free so it was really easy to get out today."
