Employee at High Point business arrested after threatening to ‘blow place up with pipe bomb’

HIGH POINT, N.C. — An employee at Slane Hosiery in High Point was arrested after police say he threatened to “blow the place up” Monday morning.

Police responded to the business at 550 W. Fairfield Road around 10:45 a.m. in reference to a bomb threat.

The caller was identified as Deante Jauan Leggett, 24, of High Point, who said he was “going to blow the place up with a pipe bomb.”

Police searched the building and did not find any destructive devices.

Leggitt was charged with one felony count of making a false report concerning destructive device.

He was given a $1,000 secured bond.
