GREENSBORO, N.C. — Classical string musicians look quite serious onstage, intently following scores as they saw bows back and forth, according to the Greensboro News & Record.
“It’s a very difficult profession,” Greensboro cellist Brooks Whitehouse says. “There’s a lot of perfectionism and pressure to deliver great works, up to the modern standard of playing.”
But catch classical musicians after a concert and find them unwinding with stories and jokes.
“It’s a well-kept secret that classical musicians are really some of the funniest people around,” Whitehouse says.
